We offer a complete range
of services so that you can obtain all your dental
care in a comfortable, familiar office with the staff
that you know and trust.
Preventive Care Services
Our concern in every service is providing you with
quality care. That begins with an emphasis on preventive
care, which can help you keep your teeth for a lifetime.
Prophylaxis
Many people think of prophylaxis as tooth cleaning,
but it’s much more. The word prophylaxis
means action taken to prevent disease. When our dental
hygienists remove the plaque and calculus from above
and below your gum line, they’re not just cleaning
your teeth so that they look and feel great—they’re
also helping to prevent gum disease.
Dental Sealants
Your back teeth and molars have deep grooves on the
chewing surfaces—grooves that are so deep and
narrow that they can be impossible to clean. Unfortunately,
bacteria have no problem getting down into these grooves
and causing decay.
Dental sealants offer a means of protecting these
surfaces from decay. Sealants are a thin, resin
film that can be painlessly and quickly bonded to your
teeth. The cost of a sealant is much less than
the cost of a filling, and it is an excellent investment
to protect teeth from getting cavities at all.
Regular Examinations
During each examination, we’ll check your teeth,
mouth and gums carefully, looking for symptoms of decay,
periodontal disease, oral cancer or even diseases like
diabetes. Using an intraoral camera, we may take
you on a “tour” of your mouth, giving you
a chance to see what we see.
We’ll examine your teeth for signs of wear and
tear, check any existing fillings to make sure they’re
intact and—by carefully checking your dental
x-rays—look for problem areas that are too small
to be detected by the eye.
Patient Education
We believe that an informed patient will make the
best decisions about their dental care. That’s
why we fully explain all your treatment options before
we begin any dental work, and why we’re always
available to answer any questions or concerns you may
have.
Breath Treatments
There are many causes of bad breath: gum disease,
internal infections, diabetes, kidney failure, liver
malfunction, and dry mouth caused by aging, medications,
mouth breathing or chemotherapy. If you have bad breath,
we’ll work with you to uncover the causes and
find the ways to treat it properly (and permanently).
Nightguards
Do you grind your teeth at night? Over time,
you could cause serious damage in your mouth by breaking
or loosening teeth. Grinding teeth can even
cause neuromuscular problems, such as headaches from
tight jaw muscles!
There is a solution. We can fit you with a nightguard—an
orthotic that you wear during your sleep or even all
day long—that will keep you from grinding your
teeth. A nightguard will reduce the stress on
your teeth and jaws so there’s less chance of
problems.
Snoreguards
Tired of having your sleep at night interrupted by
snoring (either yours or your spouse’s)? A
snoreguard, which we can fit in our office, might help.
Snoreguards can help keep a sleeper’s air passages
open, so he or she can breathe normally (and everyone
can get a good night’s sleep).
