Planning Your Treatment
Before beginning treatment, Dr. Mack Greder or Dr. Jennifer Greder will sit down with you to fully discuss your options and address any concerns. If you decide to move forward with a dental crown, we can recommend a lab-made restoration or a same-day CEREC crown depending on your needs.
We provide a range of material options for lab restorations, including porcelain, IPS e.max®, zirconia, porcelain-fused-to-metal, and composite resin. We can explain the differences between the materials and help you make an informed decision about the best crown for you.
The Crown Placement Process
In order to place a crown correctly, Dr. Greder will first need to prepare your tooth. We will remove a small portion of enamel and carefully shape your tooth so the crown fits properly without appearing bulky. Once your tooth is ready, we can take precise digital impressions to design your crown.
A dental crown from our office can restore the health and integrity of your smile in as little as a single visit.
For lab-made restorations, we send the impressions to our associate. It typically takes between seven and 10 days for the crown to return to our office. For CEREC crowns, we can fabricate your restoration while you wait in the office. When your crown is ready, Dr. Greder will bond the restoration to your prepared tooth. We can make minor adjustments to the fit at this time to ensure you are satisfied with the results.
